About chase the comet
Origin: Moscow, Russia / Los Angeles, CA
Genre: Alternative / Rock / Indie Rock / Conscious Rock / Pop-metal / Female fronted
Active since: 2017
Bio: In 2016 frontwoman Nika Comet and guitarist Alex Mishustov, a couple of high school sweethearts and since 2013 - husband and wife, they left behind successful music careers and families in Moscow, Russia to pursue the American dream in Los Angeles, CA.
Both Nika and Alex had an impressive resume by that moment - Alex opened up for Metallica, Muse and Linkin Park (to name a few!) on stadiums in cities of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus and Nika worked with one of the oldest Russian punk-rock bands as a backing vocalist! They also went to the finals of a TV-show (like "American Idol") as part of their original band.
In the US they started it all from scratch by playing in well-known venues and events, such as Whisky a Go-Go, the Viper Room and Tattoo Expo. They went on a few US tours playing in more than 20 cities and 7 states. In 2020 they collaborated with Infected Rain's frontwoman Lena Scissorhands on a cover of t.A.T.u.'s "All The Things She Said". The video for the cover released on Napalm Records' YouTube channel has gained over 1.4 M views while the video for Chase the Comet original song "Gone" gained over 200 K views on Facebook.
After a tedious struggle with their documents (described in Nika's book “Chasing the Dream”, released and available on Amazon), Nika and Alex eventually received their O-1 visa for people with extraordinary abilities while also traveling and performing in other countries and even taking part in SoFar Sounds acoustic events in the US and around the globe.
After Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022 the couple explicitly supported their Ukrainian friends and fans by playing at multiple fundraisers and openly speaking out against the tyrannic political regime in Russia.
In 2024 they released a new album through Sony after partnering with Pavement Entertainment and went on 2 month-long US national tours opening up first for MTV-generation legends CKY and 10 days later - as direct support for the guitar virtuoso and a Grammy-winner Yngwie Malmsteen.
In summer 2024, Chase the Comet were also selected to play on the Central Camp stage at the world famous Burning Man in Black Rock City, NV with both rock and acoustic sets.
The band is now working on new music and is ready to enter the new era of conscious rock!
